My sister, Asta, moved last month to Budapest to start a new life there . . .

. . . the gang has always been one for all and all for one so we decided that we would venture over there to help with the move from one country to the other . . . if you are interested she would love to see all of you as she is lonely and wanting to see her friends head on over for a visit.

. . . We arrived in Budapest without any hitches through customes. Asta took us to her apartment and showed us the beautiful view that each and every day she is able to see. This is a wonderful view as when we party there we decided that her folks cannot enter the building without one of us seeing them. This will come in handy when we party plan.

All work and no play makes for a very dull day so the girls headed out in Budapest to a local restaurant for delicious food and good gossip! So great to be together again!!

Let It Snow

Guess what? It is snowing outside! This is our first big snow of the season, which is unusual for this part of the country. I knew the snow would come and I am counting my blessings that I am an inside kittie and not outside in all of that cold wet stuff.

I am staying put for the day and stay snuggled down under my nice comforter. I will dream about the wonderful home and great folks that I adopted. Life is fantastic! What a lucky kittie I am. Hope all of you stay safe and warm.

Gee I'm Three

Today is the day that we celebrate my birthday and I am so glad that you stopped by today.

You see when I discovered the folks and decided that I would adopt them we didn't know when my birthday was. The vet told the mom that I was between 6-8 months old so we picked January to be my birth month and the 15th as that is a date that my mom celebrates her birthday in July.

I cannot believe that I am now three years old. This is a photo of me taken by my growth chart (the spindles) and you can see that I easily fit in between the spindles with a little room to spare.

Amazing in three years how one can grow or the house shrink. I am filling out quite nicely though I don't have any room between the spindles. I am happy to say that if I suck it in I can still go through the space when I want to.

This year I wanted to spend my birthday just with my folks. We are going to have a quiet day. I am not sure why the mom is asking that I pose for photos, it's my day isn't it? Well as you can see by the look on my face I am not really wanting to take photos. I just want to get to the presents!

And speaking of presents here they are? The mom knows I have a hard time unwrapping gifts with my paws so she put one of my gifts in a bag for me. I really appreciated her doing that as I was able to dive right inside and take a peek!

Oh my cat!!!! I can hardly believe it!!! My most favorite food!!!! I usually eat the dry kittie food but for the holidays the mom let me have special "stinkie" food. I am hooked on it and everytime anyone is in the kitchen I am at the refrigerator looking as cute as I can and making a bunch of racket so they will be sure to notice me. Sometimes it works but most of the time it doesn't. I have to work on making more noise I guess. Anyway this supply will do just fine and I got a new placemat for my food bowls.

Another photo request in front of my birthday presents!! I guess I will have to go along with things and be done with it. Did you happen to notice my new, beyond soft fuzzy bed? I haven't slept in it yet as I am afraid of it. I don't like changes and it will take me time to get used to my new bed. I remember when I got my hamick I wouldn't go near it but now in the day time you can almost always find me in it. I know once I get acquainted with the bed we will become great friends.

I do have some birthday surprise snacks and drinks for those of you who might be feeling the hungries getting to you. Help yourself and please stay as long as you like.

If you are feeling a little sleepy I have plenty of room in my masterbedroom closet and I put plenty of blankies down so everyone is welcome to join me in getting some zzzzzs.

The Heat Is On

I'm enjoying my newest favorite spot in the house and wanted to share that with you. It is the heat register right next to the mom's chair. Not only to I get to be close to the mom, but she put down a soft blankie for me to snuggle up into, and she cannot resist giving me pets and kisses to me when she is near me, plus the mom decorated my blog for New Years. I am having a lazy day for sure. I haven't been able to visit as the folks have pretty much deserted me and are going to do so again . . . . dang holiday times!

. . . zzzzzzzzz . . . zzzzzzz . . . sorry, let's see where was I? Oh, I remember the folks have pretty much dumped me and are busy this week too. Mom said they would be at home so that is good news but my visiting will have to wait until after the holidays. I cannot complain . . . zzzzzzz . . . . zzzzz . . . sorry again, as I am just going to be lazy while they are doing their thing.

The Night Before Christmas

Tws the night before Christmas and all through the house not a creature is stirring except . . .

. . . me thinking and wondering if Santa Paws will visit me. I think I have been a pretty good kittie all the year long . . . well except I just cannot not help giving the mom love bites that are too strong (I cannot help myself as I love her soooooooo much) and getting on the kitchen counter . . .

. . . When out on the lawn there arose such a clatter . . . I sprang to the window to see what was the matter .

. . . The moon on the breast of the new-fallen snow gave the lustre of mid-day to objects below, when what to my wondering kittie eyes should appear . . . OMC can it be?! YES! A miniture sleigh, and eight tiny reindeer. He is here! He is really here!!!! . . .

And then, in a twinkling, I heard on the roof the prancing and pawing of each little hoof! . . . He spoke not a word, but went straight to his work and filled all the stockings; then turned with a jerk . . . he told me not to worry that I was a good kittie and my stocking was full! . .

. . . He sprang to his sleight, to his team gave a whistle and away they all flew like the down of a thistle. . .

. . . I heard him exclaim as he drove out of siegh . . .

"HAPPY CHRISTMAS TO ALL, AND TO ALL A GOOD NIGHT!"

Today isn't SUNday it's FUNday for me. The mom here has all kinds of neat things going on!

The mom has brought a giant claw scratcher into the house and put pretty lights on it plus all kinds of ornaments hanging on it that I can bap around whenever I want to . . . OK whenever she doesn't see me.

Then I got to meet a really neat new friend. She doesn't talk much but is a very nice reindeer that has brought with her lots of paper towels along for her visit . . .

. . . Miss Reindeer let me me play with the towels and I had so much fun hiding in them . . .

. . . there is just so much to do around here today I am wearing myself out. I am going to take a nap before I see what is in the red bin. Phew, I'm tired.

The Hand Game

I just love to play the hand game with my daddie and it is so extra special because the mom won't play it with me, she says that I get too rough. She is wrong with that she is just a sissy! And super great news, dad is going on partial retirement and we will have more time together!!! Yeah!!!

To play the hand game I must get the dad's attention. I have jumped up on his lap and tried to be as cute as cute can be for me. He cannot resist me. I have him in my powers!

. . . the game is on and as you can clearly see I am letting him think that he has the upper hand, excuse the pun, but in truth I am in total control . . .

. . . now I try to capture his hand . . .

. . . wrap my paws around him, pulling down on his hand closer and closer to my mouth then I am able to chomp (lightly) on his hand . . .

. . . Oh what fun this is! No hard feeling and time to get some scratch time from dad. Just love times like this!! Life is GREAT!!!!

It's Beginning To Look A Lot Like Christmas

Things are starting to look like Christmas at my place. So much to do. So little time. First I want to thank Ann at Zoolatry for my beautiful banner. She also sent the mom here a beautifiul background which she wasn't able to figure out how to upload it. . . oh well . . . what can I say, good help is so hard to find . . . Anyway, a big thank you to Zoolatry for all you do to help make our places look beautiful.

I told the mom I would help her wrap presents but figuring out which paper to use for which present is so hard and can make one soooooooooo tired . . .

Another Angel

It is with a heavy heart and many tears that I must let you know that my dear sweet nephew, Opus, was helped to the bridge this afternoon, his mom and grandmom were with him. We shall miss him so much but today he let us know that he was ready to join his brother, Roscoe. Now he is forever young and healthy, able to do the things that he loved to do that age had kept him from doing.

Thank you to everyone for all your kind words and prurrs when Opus's health would take a turn for the worse.

Honoring Our Veterans

Demilitarized Zone 1968

Giving thanks to all our veterans who are serving and served protecting our wonderful nation, especially my Daddie.

My dadddie served in the army at the Joint Security Area in Korea as a Military Police Officer. He served back in the ole days when they had the draft and he had no choice about being in the army, he had had to go away from my mommie soon after they were married, they had to be seperated for a long time as couldn't go with him. That period in our nation's history wasn't a pleasant one and many citizens were against the military and had many protest marches. Our servicemen would come home from serving their country and were not treated nicely. Luckly the dad didn't ever have that problem. Never mind the protesters that is another story. Today I especially thank all of our brave soldiers that served our great nation making it a safer place for us to live in. Many of those that served paid with the ultimate price, their life, and they should never ever be forgotten. I would hate to see what this country would be like now if there was no armed forces back then and now. It is unfortunate that the fighting is still in this world as peace would be so much better but it doesn't seem to be near yet.

One night when my daddie had to go on patrol an angel was sitting on his shoulder and his life was spared when a terrible thing happened, four others were not so lucky. To this day our family remembers that day and our heart is still heavy with sadness for them. Each and every day we are thankful that he returned safely to our home.

What The Heck!

It's going to be a fun day, so I thought, as I discovered a new box sitting in the living room.

I keep a close eye on things because as soon as that box is empty I know it will be mine to play in. I don't know why the dad is taking time out to read a novel that came out of the box. I just want him to hurry up and empty the box out.

Now I am getting excited as things are coming out but I must say I am a little worried two. I don't think I like the looks of the thingie that was living in the box.

Heck with the box I say! What the heck!! They brought another sucker dooer to live in the house!!! Don't they know these things scare me to death. It isn't like they don't have enough of these monsters here. They already have a really big one.

I thought they loved me, why would they do something like this???? So much for the fun day.

Today started out like any other day but then things quickly took a turn . . . an intruder was lurking outside of my house . . . doyou see it too?

. . . the radar is working overtime and I am not letting this creature enter into my home!

. . . this thing doesn't have a clue who it is dealing with! All I can say is that there is a good thing for the creature that there is a screen seperating us. No telling what I would do if I could get to it.

. . . Guess you know where I will be spending my time today. I cannot leave my post until I am sure the creature is gone and things are back as they should be, just the dad, mom, and me hanging out today.

No Good Deed

This is what I did for four hours straight because of what happened in the morning . . . you might be thinking that I was so worn out from taking care of my mom for the past two weeks. Well you would be wrong. It is because that the mom is feeling better that my day didn't start out too good.

My day started out like any other day which is the way I like things . . . then I noticed this strange thing being brought in from the garage and knew right away that things were going to take a change for the worse . . . before I could run an hide the mom had me in the thing and was talking about my yearly check up with the vet . . . right away I started thinking how ungrateful she was to do this to me after all of the good care and attention I had given her since she was ill. &*&^%$# no good deed goes unpunished.

Things at the vet went pretty smoothly and I must say I got an A+ on my report. The vet was happy with my weight and said that I was even a little lighter than last year and that was a good thing. I got two shots, which I was a good girl when they gave them to me, then they left the room with me so they could trim my nails and also . . . well . . . . clean out my ears. I'm not saying if I was good or bad when they did this because I want to keep the mom guessing. I pulled a fast one on the mom, though, when it was time for us to leave. After the vet and assistant left the room it was just the mom and me so I decided that is was time to show her who was the boss. I wouldn't get into the carrier. I put all of my paws out and legs and hung onto anything I could reach. I was quiet proud of myself as I overpowered mom and she had to admit defeat. She held me tightly and opened the door of the room we were in and asked if someone could help her get me into the carrier. To our surprise the vet came into help her. I must say I really wish that I had a recorder because I gave the two of them a run for the money. After letting them struggle for awhile I decided that if I were every to get home I should get into the carrier, which I did. Soon I knew I would get some well deserved rest.

The really good news of the day was that the mom felt so bad about the vet visit she gave me treats when we arrived back at the house, spoiled me all day long, and I pretty much napped all afternoon only to have some gentle pats from mom when she would walk by me.

Oh, I almost forgot to mention that to prove that I am able to get even I didn't . . . well . . . leave something in the litter box that mom had to take in to the vet so now the mom has to go back when I decide that I will cooperate. Ha, ha to her.

The really great news is that I don't have to worry about another check up until next year. Keep your eyes out and if you see the carrier coming into your living space, RUN!

Taking care of mommie

Thanks for all of your kind words and purrs to help get the mom better here. Things seems to be moving along slowing in the getting better department but I am doing my bestest of the best to make sure she is getting lots of rest and taking all of her medications on time. Some things are getting better and some are getting worse. I am guessing she will see her vet the first part of the week to make sure the lung is doing fine and maybe finding out where her voice went.

I really want the mom to get better soon but . . . and this is between you and me . . . I am enjoying the snuggle and sleep time we are spending together. Her tummy is the greatest place to catch some zzzzzs on.

A Birthday Party For Opus

The cat was, as they say, almost let out of the bag yesterday when Opus showed up a day early wondering all about the birthday decorations. We explained that we were getting ready for Sock's birthday and do you believe it but he fell for that explanation. Phew.

Today is the big celebration as my nephew, Opus, celebrates his 16th birthday!

. . . Because of Opus's delicate condition at this time Olive is overseeing the food preparation to make sure special attention is given to the food presented at the party. No tummy troubles today are needed.

Karl sent special for Opus's birthday delicious candy imported from Italy. Trust me you just cannot eat one.

After all of the surprises, visiting with many friends and eating way too much Olive is asking that Opus take a little time out and read his birthday cards. Olive keeps a close watch on Opus making sure he maintains his health and doesn't over do.

This post is dedicated to my good friend ML and KC.

I have been working on designing a special award for quiet a while now and today it is finished and the first recipient is my good friend KC and ML. For all that they do this award isn't enough but it is a small way that I can show my appreciation for everything that they do to help so many. If ML had a penny for each word that she has typed over at CB she would be a wealthy person. Each and every day information is gathered, typed up, and posted on CB so we will know what is going on with all the furries in our blogging community. Also, ML and KC have for many year run the auction helping many in need of $$$. The work running the auction is also demanding plus the donations provided by them and getting the items shipped to the winning bids. And not to forget the many VSquillions that have been adopted and loved!

As we all know ML and KC's hearts are as good as gold, always willing to help those in need, sending kind words to those needing a boost, and best of all the friendship that is given to those that know them.

Opus Update

This is a photo of Opus, my nephew, taken back in June when we just arrived in the states from Italy. At first I was afraid of him and didn't appreciate a kittie in the house other then me. After a couple of days I decided that he was a nice kittie and we became good companions. I still kept on guard, as I wasn't used to sharing the house, and wasn't sure if he would eat all of my food or take all of my toys. Opus now lives elsewhere and I miss him. I find myself looking for him, I keept thinking maybe he might come back to visit.

Opus has been having some health issues and working with his mom and vet. The tests results are looking OK but his mom knows that things are not right. Please keep him in your thoughts and prayers that things will turn around and he will be feeling better and that the vet will figure out what is going on.

A big thank you to all of my good friends that came to Bora Bora and spending such a wonderful weekend together. And a big special thank you to Jan's Funny Farm for getting many of the guest to the island. Without their help our party wouldn't have been such a success.

I am thinking that this will be a yearly event so any suggestions for next year just let me know. I am always open for any ideas.

My boyfriend, Sweet Barney, and I have decided to hang around the island for a while longer and just catch up on much needed rest and get to know each other a little better. I haven't decided when I am heading back home yet and I am not sure of Barney's plans either. I will when I return home visit each and every one of you that came to Bora Bora.

Hope you all made it home safe and sound. Did your humans miss you not being around?

The Sherwood Bunch

The Sherwood bunch has arrived! They are hitting the beach and taking things easy after their long flight over here. Thanks, to JFF Airlines they were able to get here in the nick of time not to miss a lot of the action. A big thank you for Jan's Funny Farmers for transporting many of our furries to Bora Bora.

The sky is the limit there are no rules! Enjoy yourselves and have a blast. Just wonder how long it will take the humans to figure out they have been dumped? We could even hang out until the summer ends. Oh, life is good!!

Travel Thursday~Bora Bora

After many hours of thinking I have made an important decision. I am leaving on a trip allowing me to give the mom here the time she thinks she needs not to work for me. I want to blog and visit with my friends but she isn't working as much as I would like her to. Sooooooooooo I am going to Bora Bora!

Here I am getting ready to head into my nice hut that will be my home for awhile. This is the purrrfect place to be as there are fishies right outside of my hut! The best part about the fishing is there is no limit to the number of fishies that you can catch in a day.

There are many things to do here in Bora Bora and loafing is the top priority on my list. I don't know what's is going on with me sine I arrived but I cannot shake this feeling that I am not alone. I sure hope I am not getting paranoid.

Oh the good life. I sure hope the folks are getting along fine while I am on my trip. I think often about my loving family, the gang, and my friends. I will look forward to when I see everyone again.

I am not sure how long I will be on my trip because I won't come home until the mom will promise to work for me. Please know that you all are in my thoughts and that I miss all of you so much. I am looking forward to when I am able to visit and keep in touch with everyone. Please don't forget me.

ps: If you want to get away from your human for a while come on down. There are plenty of rooms still available to rent.

ppss: I am hosting an open house at Bora Bora on August 4th. Everyone needing to get away from their humans for whatever reason or just needing to get away are welcome. I will be so happy to see everyone. If you want to come just post a Bora Bora photo of yourself and link to me. Gotcha Day~Late

I MISSED MY GOTCHA DAY!!!

Heck yes I am out of focus and just beyond belief!

This is the first picture of my dad and me. It was taken July 7, 2009. The dad thinks he saw me but really I saw him first. He was an easy mark. Dad said that I was starving so he picked me up and gave me some food and water. You can see the bowls next to us in this picture. This was the window of opportunity so I worked my charm to steal their love, it worked so I decided to adopt them.

This is the first photo of the mom and me. It isn't photo shopped the white you see around me in the sunlight. You can see the instant love we had for each other. Our love for each other has grown with each passing day. I didn't have to think twice once I bonded with her that I knew I was in the right place. The folks say they were lucky to have found me but I must say that it is I who had the bestest of the best luck that day when I walked into their lives.

I cannot be upset with posting a few days late about my Gotcha Day, actually I cannot be upset with the folks at all. They have been super busy, yep that does happen to us all, so I will cut them some slack. I will stay snuggled on the mom's lap while I think about the past two years and also of the fun times to come.

ps: The mom is doing great.
ppss: I will be away from blogging for another week or so but will be able to visit maybe next week.

CATaracts Part II~Update

CATaract Update~Yesterday was a sleepy one for mom and me. They loaded her up with stuff that made her just want to sleep. During the operation two times they gave her more meds as she was feeling too much of the operation. She didn't like that at all. Today, the day after, she went in for her check up and she is doing great. Her vision is both eyes is 20-20. Wow, now she will really be able to keep an eye on me. Thanks all for your purrs and good thoughts.

I'm sitting here by the door because I want to be sure I don't miss the mom when she comes home from her CATaract surgery today. This morning they are doing her second eye and I know that when she gets home she will want to snuggle down and take a long nap and I plan on joining her.

She had a check up on her right eye the other day and the doctor is so pleased that all is well. Now the purrs are again needed as they are working on the left eye today. Thanks so much for all of your kind words and purrs. This means a lot to me and the mom.

I will post updates as to how the mom is doing.

Dad's Birthday

Mom Up Up~update: Mom had her check up today and even though her vision isn't clear yet, that will happen on Sunday, after they checked her on the chart the doctor said that she had 20-20 vision in the eye that was operated on. Yeah!!

Mom Up~update: Mom is doing great. She is taking things easy and letting all spoil her. She has an appointment this afternoon with the eye doctor, a check up. Thanks to all of you for your kind words and purrs. We both will visit you when we are out and about. Princess Jasmine!! I cannot leave comments for you yet. Please send me your email address. I have a link to my email address in the sidebar.

Mom Update: Everything went well today. The mom is really sleepy because they gave her stuff because she was anxious. Quiet day around here.

Just wanted to let you know that I will be stepping away from the computer for awhile. You see the mom here is having CATaract surgery for both of her eyes. Her first surgery is June 21 and the second one is June 30. I will be in charge of giving her lots of snuggle time and maybe both of us can catch a cat nap or two along the way.

We could use some good thoughts and purrs that all goes well. Of course this procedure will help her to see better and this might not be a good thing for me as I have been know to get up on the kitchen counter plus doing other things that I shouldnn't be doing. I am thinking she will catch me, oh well, I shall have to be quick.

Remember my face and I will see you soon. I will be back in time to celebrate my Gotcha Day and Birthday coming up in July.

A Note For You

Today I have decided to take matters into my own paws. You see the blogger monster has not been nice to me over the last few days. He has prevented me from leaving comments at some of my friend's place. When I find that I cannot leave a comment I have been sending emails to those that I have email addresses for. Unfortunately, I don't have that information for everyone so I am going to do snail mail for the others. I have all of my stationery, stamps, and address book so now I am ready to start to work . . .

. . . let's see now. I will have to think of what to say and also where to find the snail mail addresses . . . I will close my eyes and that will help me with the words that I will need to put onto paper . . .

Oh how I hate that when that happens. The zs take over and I find myself unable to resist a nap. Please know that here is my schedule when the mom works for me. Everyday we check out CB and visit with the birthday durries, gotcha day, and ones needing purrs. The next on the to do list is visit all tmy friends hat have left a comment at my place. Then mom will let me pick several furries from my friends list and we visit with them. So, if you haven't heard from me know that I have tried to visit with you while fighting with the blogger monster. Please know that all of you are near my thoughts.

Also, if anyone knows how to get rid of the blogger monster that is preventing me from leaving comments at some places let me know how to slay it.

Indy Race Results

Memorial weekend in Indiana means one thing. The Indianapolis 500 race. Many of you probably watched this exciting event on the television but I am filling you in on some of the happenings that didn't appear on the big screen.

This is a copy of the promotion poster to spike interest in the 500 race. Since this was the 100th year of racing the owners of the race track pulled out all of the stops to make this the bestest of the best race in the history of the speedway.

While the regular networks were airing the race with the humans the animal channel had a crew at the track to follow the real happenings that were going on. I was asked to race in this historical event and was more than proud when I was also asked to ride around the speedway in the official pace car before the race started. More exciting than riding in the pace car was my driver, the legendary, AJ Foyt! AJ is known as the King of the Indy 500 being the first driver to win four times.

Before the offical start of the race I caught up with the Andretti family. Mario, Michael, and Marco offered me pointers on how to get ahead in this race, what to watch out for, and charted out when my pit stops should take place. I paid careful attention as I knew this could make the difference between a win and a loss. My folks were so excited when they knew I was meeting with the Andretti family as they are fans of Mario. They were so surprised that his grandson is now a racer, yep the folks here are old.

Here I am in my race car being pushed out onto the track to get ready for the opening ceremonies. I was feeling pretty nervous when this photo was being taken as I knew there were many miles of a race to run.

The opening ceremonies were fabulous and included Jim Nabors singing "Back Home Again In Indiana", the Purdue marching band playing, Kelly Clarkson and Seal singing "The Star Spangled Banner", honoring our men serving our great nation, and last but not least a fly over by a B1 (Stealth Bomber). The mom said when she saw the stealth it brought tears into her eyes making them run down her face.

After doing our lap with the pace car once around the track the green flag was given and the race was on. I took the advice from Mario and tried not to push the car too fast, I didn't want to wear it out too soon in the race. I decided I would stay near the front and make my move in the last several laps left of the race.

This is a photo of my pit crew waiting for me to head in for gas and a change of the tires. They are such a dedicated group and gave me a thousand per cent. I could not have done so well without their dedication and quickness during the stops.

When the race was over I exchanged a few words with Dan. He is a really nice man and it was a pleasure to meet him. He was declared the winner of this year's race, the human winner that is. But . . .

. . . Yep, you guessed it. I won the race, I even beat out Dan Wheldon, what a finish. Most of you that saw the race knew that Dan won when Hildebrand had crashed into the outside wall as he exited the final turn. I protested the findings of the officials when I wasn't declared the winner but when I watched the replay I couldn't see my car ahead of Dan's. I guess I was going so fast that the replay cameras didn't catch me. Bummer.

The officials at the track declared Wheldon the winner but as you can see by the photo above the official official winner is me, team Gracie. Lucky for me the animal channel camera workers have the footage showing my car way ahead of Wheldon.

The traffic leaving the raceway was terrible so I decided to hang out for awhile and reflect on the days events. I am sorry that I won't be in the statistics of raceway history but I have my memories, trophy, checkered flag, and I was given all the milk that I wanted to drink.

Chicago & Oprah

After having a big birthday bash at Sweet Barney's yesterday we took some time off for ourselves. Last night we had a romantic dinner and drink at the top of the Hancock building. See yesterday's post for photo. Today we headed out into the city and checked out Milleuium Park enjoying some of the nice weather while it lasted. Too much rain happening but we did manage to find some rays for a few minutes.

Our next stop was at Harpo Studios to visit with Oprah. Yep, you read tht right. We have been invited to be interviewed by her. She is ending her show on May 25 and wanted to be sure to have us on before it was too late. We had to wait outside for a while until the gate was opened for us to go inside the studio.

Both of us were a little overwhelmed from the cheering of the studio audience plus actually meeting Oprah but right away she put us both at easy ending our case of the nerves. The topic of talk today was can long distance dating work. You see Oprah is in a relationship and many times is apart from Stedman and knew that Barney and I also were in a relationship and having to be apart too. We took many calls from phone in viewers and also questions from the studio audience. Both Barney and I are proof, as Oprah and Stedman, that this can work. Though being together all the time would be better. We were both proud to be part of the last tapings of Oprah's show. What an honor.

All good things must come to an end and now it was time for me to head back home. Barney took me to O'Hare Airport and watched as I went through security. Oprah has paid for me to fly home first class. I sat in my seat looking out the window knowing that I would soon return to this beautiful city for more adventures with my Sweet Barney.

As I flew over the city I looked down knowing that I wouldn't see Barney but knew that he was down there somewhere. Oh, how I miss him already. I am already planning our next visit, maybe he will even travel to my place though there isn't as much to do there as there is in Chicago. As the city got smaller the more the plane headed east I settled back in my seat and thought of the wonderful times we had celebrating his second birthday.

Barney's Birthday

Celebrating my Sweetie Pie Barney's birthday in Chicago. Today he is two years old and what a party he is throwing. The great news is that everyone is invited! Hope you can make it. Bring along a friend or two with you. After the party is over I am treating Barney to a romantic dinner at the top of the Hancock building. I am going to the party early and staying late.

Is she really doing this to me my own mom? Oh really! I am wondering what part about I am resting that she doesn't get!

Seriously, cannot she see by the look on my sweet face that I just need to be left alone? You all see it don't you? I am thinking she just doesn't get it. Does she have to have a house fall on her to get the message?

If she would just be nice enough tomove a little closer I could give her a big swat in the head. That might get my point across. But then I am thinking that might not be a good idea so maybe I could just grab the camera out of her hands and that could end the photo session that she is having. This shouldn't even be a problem today after all it's SUNday, my special day of rest.

Better yet, I think I will just ignore her and not try to look so cute. She will tire of that soon and then go away. Does anyone have any other ideas on how to train her on this camera thing???? I need to get my rest today because I am going to my Sweetie Pie Barney's birthday party tomorrow. Oh, you are invited too.

Hey you all, just wanted to let you know that we are still here. The mom is doing pretty good and I am doing my best to make her happy by giving her plenty of snuggle time and I even pose for her when she has the camera.

We want to thank everyone that stopped by when my uncle went to heaven and left kind words. This made us all feel better to know how many of you care. We will visit with each and every one of you that stopped by earlier as soon as the mom is ready.

A week ago today the mom had been told the bad news that she knew was coming. The brother so much loved by her and has been in her life always had left to go to heaven. She says that this has changed forever who she is. She also has said that having an older brother was the best. He was the one person as you grew up that you knew was always there for you offering love and protection.

Ah, SUNday again. I usually enjoy this day but today I am busy doing a lot of thinking . . .

. . . I just don't understand the white stuff on the ground. It comes and it goes. I don't know where it goes when it leaves and I don't know where it comes from when it arrives. As soon as the ground is rid of the snow then back it comes . . . I haven't a clue . . . as long as it stays outside then I guess I will be OK with that . . . and another thing that I am thinking about . . . the pink collar, did you notice? Yep, the mom put me in the pink collar . . .

. . . the mom thinks I look so cute in it but since I haven't been wearing it in awhile it is now bothering me . . . she mumbles something about me getting used to it. I'll show her getting used to it. I will find a way to get this thing off of me. Let me see how to go about this . . .

. . yawn . . . sorry guess I have worn myself out and will need to catch some zzzzzs. I will just have to wait until the mom takes off the collar for me . . . that isn't such a bad deal as she will rub and scratch all around where the collar was. So I guess until then I will . . . yawn . . . zzzzzz.

Time to sit down with the mom and once again do the yearly purrrformance review. This was going to be a tricky one as many times she hasn't worked for me as much as I would have wanted . . .

. . . but I thought about the past year and realized that she wasn't so bad after all. Many things on the plus side came into consideration with this report . . .

Write Up Of Review by Gracie

Over the last year there were many times that I wanted you to work for me more but you had other things that took you away from your duties of my blog. There were posts missed, friends to visit, contests to be entered, and other blogging duties. Then I had to consider the many house of work you put in working on my blog; the new header, new wallpaper at my place, making headers for my friends, helping with the VSquillion Shelter, answering the emails, and helping with the duties that go along with Head Auctioneer at the CB Official Auction. Taking that into consideration and averaging out the slack times with the you work for me times I have decided to give you a B+. This means you have improvement in some areas which we have discussed and you have agreed to address these issues. I am giving you a grade as that makes sense as the dad here is a professor and the mom, you a retired teacher, so you will understand the grading system better. You fall between High (four paws) and Medium (two paws). So I guess that gives you a three paws which is a High- or a Medium+

A New Favorite

I have a new favorite spot to catch some zzzzzs and it is so fantastic that I have to share it with you. It is just too good not to share the information!

If you have a thingie in your house that looks like this it is called a register, well, you just have to get as close to it as you can. If you wait awhile warm air comes out and makes you feel so cozy and sleepy. The warm air stays on a long time if it is really cold outside.

I highly recommend this as a must do. Now if I may excuse myself I must get back to some heavy snoozing.

It is with many thoughts and long consideration that I am announcing my resignation as Head Auctioneer at the CB Auction. I have enjoyed my year and a half tenure there helping those in need of $$$ and meeting many new good friends. I will use the extra time to have new adventures. There is talk in the winds that Little Productions, producers of the CCSI shows, is soon to produce a new episode. I have been asked to step on board with this process and my time will be taken up at the studios. I want to thank everyone who participated in the fundraising efforts with KC and me. This auction would not be successful without the help of all of those that donate and bid. Your continuous support of the auction will guarantee that those in need will get the help they so need. The Blizzard

It all started on Monday when the Mom was talking about a blizzard coming to our area. She went to the grocery store and stocked up on a bunch of food, went to the gas station and filled up the CRV, and charged up the cell phones. I kept wondering what a blizzard was since I have never ever seen one before.

All the news folks were talking about it and saying that it was to arrive on Tuesday and I put two and two together and knew that it was coming from outside. I thought I would check things out and see if I would to be the first to spot it, whatever it was.

February 1~Our backyard overlooking the pond

Right on time the blizzard was here. For once the weathermen were right even though the mom and dad here were wishing they were wrong. All night long there were strange sounds outside. The wind was blowing so hard and mixed in with the snow was sleet that was hitting the house. The house made all kinds of noises that I didn't like. The mom held me and told me everything would be OK and not to be afraid. The three of us all slept together that night. I figured the blizzard monster would have to go through them to get to me. Safety in numbers.

February 2~Round two of the storm

In the morning of the next day the monster was still here, this blizzard was here to stay. Our county was under a Level 1 warning which means that unless you are an emergency worker you must not be out in your cars. The wind was still blowing and making a racket still. Sometime in the afternoon the monster got quieter and then finally went away, I don't know where it went but I sure was happy that it was gone.

When it was time for the folks to start thinking about digging out the nice neighbor across the street came into the driveway with his truck and plowed almost all of the snow out of their way. They were beyond happy when he did this and called his house with many thanks of appreciation.

I didn't like all of the noise that the monster blizzard made so the mom put a nice comfy blankie in the masterbedroom closet for me to snuggle down on. It is nice and quiet in there, almost sound proof plus it is nice and warm. She kept checking on me to see if I was OK. As you can see this worked out purrrfectly for me. The mom is going to keep the blankie there for me and I am thinking is my new found favorite sleepy place. Do you know that when she turns off the light in there it is such a fantastic catcave! Love it.

Today, Thursday, the weather is cold beyond cold. Please keep the furries in your purryers who live outside that they will find food, shelter, and be safe. And be sure you all stay safe!! Oh, if you need me I will be in my catcave.

Not So SUNday

I have one question I have to ask on this weekend SUNday. Where is the sun? It has been so long that we have seen the sun up here that I am forgetting what it looks like, feels like, and where to find it!

With that being said I won't let that get me down. I will catch my zzzzs without it! My blankie will keep me warm.

Mom's A Hero!

I am taking you back to January 5 on this post. Yes, I know that was a long time ago but this is an important post and I am running a little late with things, meaning the mom is running late. I am trying to be patient with her because she does try. Anyway on the morning of the 5th things were normal . . . the dad was getting ready to go back to work after Christmas break . . . mom was up and about but I was still trying to catch some zzzs when I could tell that mom was upest about something . . .

. . . she immediately after opening the curtains to the back of the house grabbed something called binoculars and looked through them. Then she put on some shoes and went tearing out back by the pond. I thought it was strange that she didn't even put on a coat as it was pretty cold that morning. She left saying something about please let that be a brown paper bag on the pond . . . I wasn't understanding her so I just kept an eye out to see what was going on . . .

Mom came into the house with tears in her eyes. She told that dad that there was a ginger kittie with his/her little tail stuck to the ice and couldn't get away . . . the kittie was alive but not moving very much . . . the dad was running late and had to leave to work even though the mom had asked him to do something . . . OMC! This is terrible. The mom knew she couldn't get on the ice as one she could fall down and two there was water out there making things not safe anyway . . . she thought about two minutes and called 911 . . .

Mom didn't want to call Animal Control because she has found that once when she called them to help the man that came was mean plus she thought they might not come right away and she didn't know how long the kittie could hold out. When the 911 operator answered her call mom told them right away that it wasn't a human emergency but that there was a kittie with it's tail stuck to the ice on the pond. Mom said that the 911 lady was really nice and said not to worry that she would get help out to our house asap.

In less than ten minutes there were three water rescue guys from the county and an ambulance standing by in case anyone went into the water. One man was tied with a rope and the other two were holding onto it while he went closer to the kittie. When the kittie saw the man getting close to him he/she sat up and kept a close eye on him . . .

. . . the closer the man got the more the kittie didn't like the idea. The kittie didn't realize that help was right there and no harm was to be done . . .

. . . Just as the man was reaching to help the kittie there were all kinds of kitting yelling and before you knew it the kittie leaped and took off, I hope that didn't hurt the fur on the tail too much doing that! I have never seen such speed in my life before. We are hoping that the kittie will remember this terrible adventure on our pond and never get on it again. The mom was so happy and talked to the rescue folks and must have thanked them a million times. What wonderful work these guys do to take the time to help furries in need. They had told the mom that they had already on that day rescured another kittie and two doggies.

. . . When the mom got back inside she picked me up and I think I felt a few wet things running off of the top of my head. She spoiled me rotten that day, I am spoiled rotten every day by the way. She couldn't pet me enough and she made a nice sofe bed with my favorite comfortable blankie and just let me snuggle all the day long. I thought about the adventures of the morning and started to count my blessings again that I found the folks here and picked them to let me live in their house.

Not all furries are as fortunate to have a furever home and I will say my purrs that those outside up here in these colds winter months find food, warmth, shelter, and stay safe.
