Ernest Update

Thanks to many $$$ was raised for Ernest's surgery, surgery done, & Ernest has been adopted!!!

~ Ernest Update ~ A big THANK YOU you to everyone who donated to help Ernest. We were able to raise the full amount needed for his medical expenses. Ernest had his surgery and came through with flying colors. After a quick recovery, he was placed up for adoption and found his forever home last Saturday. Someone met the one-eyed, polydactyl, Siamese, shelter kitten and fell in love. Thanks to your help, Ernest is now enjoying his new home and his new life. Thanks again for helping Ernest and honoring the memory of sweet Olive.

Update~Help Wanted

~ In Memory of Olive ~

My human sister, Cyndi, is honoring the passing of Olive by helping out Ernest with a fund raiser for a surgery needed.

Ernest

~UPDATE~

We have had a few friends ask us how they can donate to Ernest's fund without using Paypal.

Please follow these directions, per the Humane Shelter of Indianapolis.
Checks can also be dropped off or mailed to the shelter with the animal's name (Ernest) written in the check's memo field:

Humane Shelter of Indianapolis
For: Ernest
7929 N. Michigan Rd.
Indianapolis, IN 46268.
Please send an email to shelterpetsindy@gmail with your donation amount so that we can keep track of the amount of money raised, and be sure to include your name in the email so that we can properly thank you.
For all who have donated or will donate, we thank you from the bottom our hearts. With just a few more donations, we can meet Ernest's needed amount. Please consider a small donation to help out this brave, little kitty. The sooner he gets his operation, the sooner he will be placed up for adoption and the sooner he will find his forever home.

"Help Wanted: While checking out the Indianapolis Humane Society's webpage last week I came across the story of Ernest. The little fella has an ulcer behind one of his eyes. Though it isn't causing him pain, he cannot see through it and it will need to be removed. The Indianapolis Humane Society does not receive tax dollars to run their program nor do they receive subsidies from HSUS or ASPCA--all of their money comes from donations. I know I can't raise money for all of the animals who are need of medical attention but, in honor of my own cat Ollie (who recently passed away), I would like to raise all the money needed for Ernst to have his operation. He only needs $300.00, $25 has already been donated. If everyone donated a few dollars, it wouldn't take long to raise the money. If you would like help with Ernst's fund, please make a donation through paypal--sending the donation to the email shelterpetsindy@gmail.com. This is an account I set up just for Ernst. If we happen to raise more money than needed, the extra money will be donated to the shelter to help another pet. No amount of money is too little."--Cyndi, Olive's Mommie

ps: Again, thank you to everyone for your kind words and purrs when sweet Olive and our family was in need of them. I will visit each of you, it might take me a while but I will see you sooner or later. Hopefully it will be sooner but you know how hard it is to get the mom to work for me.

Run Free Sweet Olive

Opus & Olive~Together Forever

Today Olive was helped to the rainbow bridge with her mom and grandma. Our hearts are breaking. We thought we would have more time. Her kidneys had failed. Opus and Roscoe, her brothers, were there to greet her.

Run free forever sweet one. Until we meet again. We will miss you and always love you, just as we love your brothers. Our hearts are broken.

Olive Needs Purrs

Olive update: Friday evening/  This was written on Olive's mom's FB " Ollie isn't out of the woods yet. I picked her up from the animal hospital this morning and got her our vet. Not only is Dr. Mc Davit an incredibly intelligent woman, she is one of the kindest, most compassionate veterinarians I have ever met. Ollie is in good hands. She will be staying over night with around the clock fluids. More tests tomorrow. For now all we can do is wait and see. The pain one feels when their furry friends are sick or hurt is just a treatment to how much love and enrichment they bring to our lives." Thanks to everyone sending their love, good thoughts and prayers. Keep them coming. We still don't know if Olive has a kidney infection or is kidney failure. We will know more in the next few days or maybe even as long as a week.
Olive, my niece is in need of your purrs. She was taken to the emergency vet yesterday. Test were taken and blood work done. They kept her at the clinic to observe her and give her fluids. My mom is heading down today as things are looking not good. At first they thought her kidneys were failing but now it looks like she might have renal failure. Our hearts are breaking.
