And The Winner Is

Today is the day we have all been waiting for!  The drawing for the FUNraiser Holiday Photo Contest has been done and we now have a winner to announce!

The grandbean is visiting and had offered to do the drawing for me. I had the mom write all the entry names on pieces of paper and put into a beautiful Christmas box. Then the dad mixed and mixed the pieces of papers up . . .

. . . I made one final inspection to make sure all 26 entries were in the box and we were ready to go ahead with the drawing . . .

. . . Cara closed her eyes and I also closed my eyes . . . no peeking was a rule for the drawing . . .

. . . ta da . . . WE HAVE A WINNER . . . and the winner is . . .

Santa Claus & Santa Paws

It's another holiday for the humans again. Which means company with lots of people or them going away. This got me thinking that I might be able to do something special for Christmas. I immediately came up with the purrrfect thing to do so I contacted the gang, Opus, Olive, Karl, Ruis, and Momo, and Asta to see if they would like to join me on one last adventure for 2010 . . .

. . . Santa liked the idea of having extra help and we were given instructions from him on how to be the purrrfect Santa Paws helpers . . . with the extra help Santa had we finished up our passing out of the presents to all that are good ones early . . .

.
on Santa's cycle: back: Olive & Momo  front: Karl & Ruis
on Opus's cycle: Gracie & Asta

. . . now our time was free and we were headed on a road trip with Santa . . .  just like in the movie Easy Rider starring Peter Fonda . . .  just the wind hitting us in the faces . . . oh we checked with the police and they  gave us some magic dust to keep us extra safe so we all wouldn't have to wear the safety helemts on this trip . . .  we didn't know where Santa was taking us . . . he seemed to have a specific place in mind so we just tagged along . . .

This is beyond great! The beach . . . nice and warm . . . relaxing . . . everyone doing what they like to do . . .

Wing girls & Santa l-r: Asta & Momo
back: Opus, Olive, Karl, & Gracie

. . . our day at the beach went by way too quickly . . . now it was time for Santa to head out . . . we posed by his jet plane for a final group shot . . . the time went all too quickly . . . we were not ready to have this adventure end . . . was this the final photo?  You will have to come back and see for yourself.

Wishing all of you a Merry Christmas filled with fun and love!

Monday Mail

Today I get to post about my mysterious Box #2. This was sent to me by my good friends over at Forty Paws. My package arrived quite awhile ago but the mom is so far behind in things she is just now getting around to helping me post about my wonderful gift from the Forty Paws gang.

When I opened the box I got the most wonderful sniff of nippie, wow! It was such a great smell that I got so busy playing that I almost forgot about the important part . . . what was inside the box waiting for me . . .

. . . I got everything out of the box . . . there was this beautiful pink blankie and a lot of round white thingies but best of all was the cat nippie that was on EVERYTHING! I just couldn't help myself . . . I sniffed and sniffed then . . .

. . . well as I have said once and I will say again a picture is worth a thousand words . . . the playing went on for quite awhile . . . wow ...

. . . while I was busy doing my thing mommie put together my blankie and white pieces of thingies and oh my gosh, to my surprise was the most beautiful hammock I have ever seen.  Of course there was nippie on the blankie and I had more major sniffing and playing to do . . .

. . . this was the most wonderful present. What wonderful friends I have over at Forth Paws! Thanks bunches!! They wanted me to have my own hammock and knew I wanted one as I was bidding on one over at the auction and lost the bid. They emailed me and said that they had one for me and wanted me to have it for all of the work I do at the auction to help others needing $$$$.

I just LOVE my hammock. The mom here has put it by our patio door so I can look outside and keep an eye on things going on . . . pretty much nothing goes by me that I don't know about and now I can be comfy when I am on patrol. Thanks soooooooooooo much for my wonderful present!!

If you would like your own hammock that could be possible because you see the Forty Paw's mom makes them. All you have to do is visit over at their place and click Dorf's picture on the right side of their blog. You will get all of the information needed to get one to be sent to you.

I am thinking we should start a hammock club or something. Do you want to join?

Oh, speaking of the auction I want to remind you that today is the last day to bid on items for week #1. Bidding will end tonight at midnight.

Caturday Saying

This post is dedicated to all our loved ones and friends who are no longer with us.
But they are never far away as they are close to us in our thoughts and in our heart.

Snowy Sunday

I couldn't believe it! When I woke up this morning there was something different going on outside of my house . . .

. . . there was white stuff falling from the sky and covering all of our yard and pond . . .

. . . the mom called the stuff snow . . . it sure is pretty . . .

. . . I kept watching the stuff come down. Things are getting deeper outside. I am worried that it will take over all of our yard . . . the folks here aren't even concerned about things . . .

. . . this is my pond, it too is being taken over by the white stuff called snow . . .

. . . the mom said the snow is wet, cold, deep outside with the possibility of things getting deeper today and tomorrow. I am so glad that I have a furever home and am on the inside watching the outside make this transformation . . . I also am having a blast trying to catch some of those flakes.

If you are in the snowy area of the country I hope you are all warm and watching things from the inside of your house.

Dad & Me Plus An Auction

Most of you know that I have a mommie and a daddie but I usually have posts about the mom and me. Well today I thought I would  feature my daddie today. He is one heck of a nice guy, it is because of him that I am living in my wonderful furever home. He saw me way back in the summer of 2009 and knew that I was starving so he fed me . . . and the rest is history . . . anyway he and I are going to keep an eye on the auction for Brighton . . .

. . . the auction for Brighton has started today, December 9th, and will run through the end of December to help much needed $$$$ for all of the vet bills that Brighton's folks have to pay . . . I plan on keeping an eye on things but since the dad is here with me I might close an eye or two for a few moments to catch a little rest . . .

. . . for the first time ever the CB Auction is offering a special item up for bidding for a limited number of days on the block . . . you won't want to miss out on this . . . I might close my eyes a little more tighter as the dad is going to keep on top of things for me . . .

. . . anyway as I was saying . . . zzzzzz . . . zzzzzzzzz . . . zzzzzzzzzzz . . . zzzzzzzzzzzzz . . .

This month's auction for Brighton promises to have many items up for bid and something for everyone to want. Check it out!

A Christmas Package

The mom is good for her word and today she is posting about one of my packages that arrived in the mail. Of course she had to pose me waiting patiently for her to get to the important stuff, like helping me open it! You can see by my face that I was not happy about the wait.

Anyway, this package came all the way from The Creek Cats. I had no idea what was inside except that it was a present, ordered from The Creek Cat's mom's store Etsy, from my sister that lives in Italy and my nephew, Opus, and my niece, Olive.

. . . at last the box is opened! I carefully look inside and saw a Christmas card from The Creek Cats along with yummy Temptations and play mice. Then I noticed something that was carefully wrapped in bubble paper.

Once the mom here helped me get things unwrapped I saw a beautiful portrait of me along with notecards. You see The Creek Cats mommie is an artist and did this painting taken from a photo of me. What a wonderful artist she is! I kept checking out the painting and am thinking that I am one cute little kittie if I do say myself.

I am so happy with my present and thank the wonderful artist from The Creek Cat Family. Their mommie has a store, Etsy, filled with so many great items for sale so if you are interested in having a portrait of you made or are in need of special gifts go check okut things at her store.

The mom put the portrait up on our mantel, think it looks pretty good up there. I want to thank my sister, nephew and niece for this lovely present and also for the mom of The Creek Cats for her wonderful work! We all love my portrait!!!

One package down, and three more to go. Will post about those on another day.

TGIF

Thank goodness it's Friday! That means the weekend is coming up and the mom has promised that she will finally let me open my boxes, yep you read tha right there is more than one, that have been sent to me on Saturday or Sunday. I say it is about time as they are stacking up and I don't think that is very nice of her not to let me get to things. I have been biting her a lot whenever I get the chance and she doesn't like it. Well if she were smart she would put two and two together and come up with the point I am trying to make. You help me open my boxes that were delivered to me and I will (might) stop with the biting.
